SYDNEY: Evil Twin's international orders have eclipsed its sales on home ground following a year in which the brand exhibited at London Fashion Week.
The young womenswear label, owned by Minkpink, now counts among its international stockists Fred Segal and Planet Blue in the US, Beams in Japan, Lane Crawford in China and Urban Outfitters in the UK.
Evil Twin brand manager Carissa Hill said online retailers including Asos, Shop Bop, Revolve Clothing and DJ Premium were also key stockists, along with a handful of boutiques in Canada.
“International sales have grown tremendously over the past year, especially in Japan,” Hill confirmed.
The rise in international sales coincides with Evil Twin's exhibition at London Fashion Week from September 17-21, 2010, where it was represented by Out and About showroom. Evil Twin was among just a handful of Australian labels that travelled to the northern hemisphere for the fair.
On home soil, the brand will ramp up its exposure with a Christmas merchandise campaign in General Pants Co store windows. The campaign will roll out across General Pants Co's national store network and will see Evil Twin showcased alongside fellow youth brands Ksubi and One Teaspoon.
Other Evil Twin stockists in Australia include Globalize (national), Dissh (QLD) and Babes (NSW).
Evil Twin launched in February 2009 and is designed by Jodie McKenzie. Product in its spring/summer 2010/11 collection includes mini dresses, slashed t-shirts, denim overalls and suede shorts.
Minkpink also produces labels Staple, The Lost Girls and Minkpink.
