MELBOURNE: Ten emerging designers have been awarded the right to have their interpretation of the little black dress go on display as part of the Melbourne Spring Fashion Week (MSFW) schedule.
Project Runway Australia runner-up Leigh Buchannon was among the winning entries and his garment will be featured alongside those from Airdrie Makim & Claire Djuve (Smallweed's Joolz), Alyana Eau, Andy Tsang, Kristy Barber (Kuwaii), Michelle Czech, Nikolina Kucan, Noelle Kan, Rachael Cassar and Sonya Kraan.
Judged by fashion identities Joe Saba, Robert Buckingham and Nikita Papas, the winning garments were shot over the weekend by fashion photographer Christian Blanchard and will be unveiled at the event's opening gala.
Targeted at consumers, MSFW runs from September 1 to 6.
