NATIONAL: Snowboarding attire brand Burton has stepped up its eco-credentials with an expanded offer of environmentally friendly products.

New into 80 sports stores across the country, 62 earth conscious items have been created as part of the brand’s Green Mountain Project (GMP).

The pieces for men and women feature recycled polyester fleece for thermal effect, with outer shells on garments made with recycled materials wherever possible. Elements include fabrics, waterproof laminates, linings, shock cords, elastic, labels and artwork trims.

The brand’s GMP bags are made from 100 per cent recycled polyester, 100 per cent recycled main body material, webbing, lining, interior mesh and metal process logo badge.

Prices include $449 for a women's bliss down jacket, or $329 for snowboarding trousers.

The international brand has head offices in Tokyo, Europe, USA and Australia and flagship stores in LA, New York, Chicago and Tokyo.
