SYDNEY: Fashion retailer Seduce Group is among the first majors to sign with eBay’s fledgling fashion sub-site, a fresh venture for the Australian market.

The Seduce eBay outlet, part of a partnership with the online shopping service, will feature over 120 styles from Seduce in both accessories and clothing and sees the brand join a group of approximately 20 other fashion labels selected to participate in the Australian concept launch.

As first reported by Ragtrader in March, the fashion-focused site, which provides interactive product viewing, 48-hour delivery, free shipping on items over $200, a Paypal payment option, and promotions exclusive to eBay customers, was originally created and launched in the UK but is now trialling in Australia.

Seduce Group national PR & marketing manager Kat Robinson said the platform, which is “run by the brand, with eBay supplying the consumer, standards and framework”, came at the perfect time for growth and would allow Seduce to radically boost its customer reach.

“As we all know, eBay reach far and wide, and the fashion hub currently services all of Australia and possibly worldwide in a few months. So this online platform will give customers who could never reach our brand before the chance to purchase pieces both new and old season,” she said.

“This also gives Seduce another revenue, direct contact with different customers for feedback and offers our unique clothing to a broader range of people.”

Although Seduce Group already operates online portals for the Seduce label, as well as sister brands Katherine and BlueJuice, Robinson said the eBay store differs from the main Seduce site by offering a larger array of styles, and more discounts and discontinued lines in addition to new season product.

Looking forward, Robinson said the brand is also looking at “product to be made exclusively for eBay, depending on purchasing behaviours going forward”, with plans to also invest in “collaborations and specific online designers”, after the first four months.

“We have great plans for the future and would like the online store to mimic the same growth as our e-comm store and if not, outgrow it all together. We are starting small and seeing what capabilities it has but would love for it to eventually service many countries and with great efficiency.”

While eBay has scheduled varying launch dates throughout September for other fashion retailers involved, Seduce confirmed that all marketing activity will be organised in conjunction with eBay, with a celebration, advertising, promotions and specials planned for all associated brands in the coming months.
