Ebay Fashion Gallery has secured international fashion blogger Candice Lake as a contributor for its Ebay ‘Style Seeker’ program, as it gears towards an official launch.
Lake, who has a reputation for being one of the most influential street-style photographers in the world, has previously been recognised by both Net-A-Porter and The New York Times, and will begin work with Ebay Fashion Gallery from April 30.
Her role, as part of the new Ebay ‘Style Seeker’ initiative, will be to produce content, including outfit posts, street-style imagery, behind-the-scenes photography and blog posts over the period of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia (MBFWA) and for a brief period after.
However, Ebay Australia & New Zealand head of fashion Jo-Ann Hicks said that the partnership with Lake is part of a larger strategic plan for the site.
“Candice and her Fashion Week content will fall under the Fashion Gallery at Ebay ‘Style Seeker’ program which is set to officially launch in the coming months,” she said.
“The next Style Seeker will be Justine Cullen of Shop Til You Drop, but as the Fashion Gallery grows, so does the opportunity for partnerships, sponsorships, events and other undertakings which connect the site with consumers and industry.”
Following certain challenges – such as logistics and issues with site integration – brought up by existing retailers on the Ebay Fashion Gallery, Hicks also said the site has improved its overall offering.
“From feedback through launch, we now have an on-boarding team who work with each merchant’s technical team particularly during the initial setup,” she said.
Ebay Fashion Gallery has also recently added new retailers to its stable, including Fleur Wood, Viparo, and Mesop who joined the site in April.
