BILLABONG BRAND CAMPAIGN
GOLD COAST: Surfwear giant Billabong has launched a new online competition designed to engage consumers the world over. The online campaign directs readers to the website www.isurfbecause.com and asks them to complete the sentence 'I surf because...' to go in the running to win a slate of prizes, including international surfing trips. The competition is open to individuals the world over and has received submissions from Portugal, New Zealand, Peru, Australia, the US and more.

ONLINE EFFIGY
SYDNEY: Five-year-old womenswear label Effigy 49 is set to supplement its 50-plus stockist base with the launch of its own online store. Scheduled to go live this month at www.effigy49.com.au, the online site will debut creations from the young womenswear brand's spring/summer 2010/11 collection, 'Bowerbird'. Featuring over 120 tribal, futuristic and music festival-inspired designs, signature pieces in the collection include vests with embellished necklines, 100 per cent organic cotton t-shirts, bikinis and kaftans. Price points include dresses from $79.95 and bikinis from $129.95.

MELBOURNE: Sportsgirl has launched a new mobile phone platform to enable customers to access the full e-commerce services offered on its website. This means that customers with any style of mobile phone that can access the internet will be able to see Sportsgirl's website without restriction. In addition to shopping, it will also provide access to the brand's Style Me inspiration galleries, blogs and links to its social networking sites. iPhone customers will also be able to download a new Sportsgirl app from the iTunes store.

VOGUE CONNECTION
SYDNEY: An online portal has been launched for retailers looking to take part in Vogue Fashion’s Night Out. Scheduled to take place on September 9, the consumer shopping event aims to drive foot traffic to stores located in Sydney’s CBD. Retailers can register by accessing vogue.com.au, clicking on the Fashion Night Out link and filling in their details in the ‘Register’ section. Cue, Coach and Hermes are among those to take part.
