SYDNEY: G-Star Raw has continued to expand aggressively across key capital cities in Australia, opening a new site in Westfield Chatswood.
As reported in Ragtrader's June 19 edition, the brand's domination of the local denim market had played a part in competitor Diesel's decision to reduce its retail price points. Prices across Diesel's spring/summer 2010 season had dropped by 20 per cent or more.
Amsterdam-headquartered G-Star was operated in Australia by Denim Enterprises Pty Ltd. Director Nick Hiron said the Chatswood store had been designed by the by brand's Dutch head office.
"G-Star is a denim brand that adds luxury to the street. We know it appeals to Australian consumers as they recognise themselves in our brand values rough, stylish, pure and functional."
