SYDNEY: Twelve emerging designers have been named as finalists in the Fashion Exposed Debut competition to be held in March.
Finalists from New South Wales include womenswear label Samantha Estelle designed by Samantha Herft, Aponi by Sky Haylock and Ilse Couture by Ilze Skestere.
Queensland finalists are Elsje Jordan, Oksana Stephens, Soot by Edwina Sinclair and also Kate Anderson Issue by Kate Anderson.
The line up from Victoria includes Annelies Love-Linay's label Where Lovers Lie and Orri Henrisson by Henry Ng.
ACT finalists include cocktail label Jenifer Aniela by Jenifer Apps, Knox by Sophie Loader and Lola's Wishing Tree by Nishaan Sekhon and Shardere Gordan.
The competition, launched in 2006, is judged at the trade fair by a panel of industry experts. It is designed to give new designers exposure and a kick start in the fashion industry.
Fashion Exposed trade fair will be held at the Sydney Exhibition Centre from March 6 to 8, 2011.
