NATIONAL: Department store David Jones has launched a capsule online store in the lead up to the Christmas trading period.
A selection of 1500 options will be available across women's and men's accessories, fashion, homewares, gifts, beauty and fragrances. David Jones Gift Cards will also be offered as part of the e-commerce launch, with all offers available for delivery to domestic consumers only.
Basic men's t-shirts from Industrie ($24.95), 'The Innocent Tank' from Sass and Bide ($89), the 'Victoria Mini Cross' handbag from Chloe ($650) and babywear by Bebe by Minihaha ($9.95) will be part of a limited but exclusive fashion component.
Consumers who purchase through the online store can return or exchange their purchases via mail or David Jones retail sites. All orders will be dispatched within one business day.
David Jones has not offered online shopping since shutting down its e-commerce facility in 2002/2003, following a $30 million loss within the space of a year.
