Coquette Red eyes global market
Accessories label Coquette Red has made its first step into exporting with participation at upcoming Hong Kong Fashion Week (HKFW).
Coquette Red COO Phil Hayes-Brown said the company's attendance at HKFW from July 6 to 9 was key to its expansion plans.
"While we still have plenty to do here in our home markets, we have also set a goal to build a strong business outside Australia and New Zealand. Last year the [HKFW] Fair attracted 17,000 visitors from 87 countries so it's a major international event. Our target export markets are Canada, the US, UK and Ireland and it is our aim to find distributor partners to help build our business in those markets."
Meanwhile the brand had also bagged new domestic growth opportunities following the appointment of four sales agencies across Australia and New Zealand.
Since the launch of its summer 2009/10 indent collection in February, the label had appointed sales agencies in Perth (Focus Brand Management), Brisbane (Fashion Allied), South Australia (Karen Burgess) and New Zealand (Mondo Group). They joined existing Sydney agent Jo Hyde Fashion Marketing, which had responsibility for sales in NSW and ACT, while sales for Victoria and Tasmania were still driven via the company's wholesale showroom in Hawthorn, Melbourne, Hayes-Brown said.
