NATIONAL: The last finalist in this year's Chambord Shine Awards has been announced, judged by fans of the design competition on Facebook.
Following heats in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney in which nine brands were selected by an industry panel, Brisbane brand Subfusco was awarded the tenth spot through the public online vote.
Subfusco, run by Joshua Roberto Scacheri, will join Brisbane finalists George Wu, Talulah and Jacqueline Buck Couture. From Melbourne, Anna Campbell, Jolet and Limedrop made it through, while in Sydney designers Danielle Van Camp, Luela and Lulu in Chains were selected.
The ten brands now have seven weeks to create a Chambord inspired outfit and headpiece suitable to wear at the Spring Racing Carnival.
The finals will be judged at an event in Sydney on August 31. The winner will obtain a double page spread in marie claire magazine and a chance to showcase their creation to 2000 consumers at 'An Evening with Our Designers' at the Strand Arcade in Sydney. The outfit will also be worn by a celebrity during the Spring Racing Carnival and the designer will receive sponsorship to take part in a major consumer fashion festival in 2011.
