NATIONAL: Calvin Klein has capitalised on its entry into the Myer brand portfolio, unleashing new retail and product ventures in Australia.
The New York-headquartered brand is scheduled to open a new store in Bondi Junction in November, and will relocate its City Central Plaza store to Westfield Sydney in the same month. Calvin Klein executive vice president global communications Malcolm Carfrae said the openings were part of a campaign to build the brand’s local presence following Myer’s decision to stock the Calvin Klein Collection last year.
“We’ve been really pushing hard on the apparel side,” Carfrae said. “We have two stores opening this year in Australia for CK, and then also we are really concentrating on our Collection business.”
Australia is also only the second market in the world to stock Calvin Klein Home, Carfrae revealed. The homewares line landed in Australia in March 2010.
