From intimate to out there, fashion events have been a mixed bag of late. Here Ragtrader captures some highlights.
Garden affair Marnie Skillings launched her summer 2010 collection themed Lady.Nimble.Shadow at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney. A glasshouse space was transformed with antique outdoor settings and flowers, to set the scene for fashion and socialising. Designer Clare Press was in attendance.
Surf’s up US designer Cynthia Rowley teamed up with surfwear label Roxy to create a 40-piece collection for winter. Models, media and celebrities gathered under a stunning full moon at the glamorous Icebergs bar in Bondi to toast the collaboration. Rowley is pictured with model Kendal Schuler.
House party Conducted in the privacy of her home, designer Carla Zampatti’s spring/summer 2010 showing was a stylish affair. Models descended down a stairway into the living room, where guests sipped on champagne. Sheer evening gowns, cocktail dresses and an abundance of organza were styled by Michelle Jank. Midnight tales A discreet affair was conducted at David Jones in Sydney to showcase Collette Dinnigan’s elaborate winter 2010 gowns. Black, midnight blue and rich embellishment made their mark in the 30-piece range. Dinnigan took a moment to be snapped with Ken Thompson and David Meagher.
