Cross crediting
SYDNEY: TAFE NSW students design and fashion students can now receive credits for their studies when applying for undergraduate degrees at Raffles College of Design and Commerce in North Sydney. A new agreement between Raffles College and TAFE NSW means students will have advanced standing into either the Bachelor of Design or Bachelor of Arts (visual communication) degrees. The move means TAFE NSW Diploma and Advanced Diploma graduates from courses such as Graphic Design, Fashion Design, Design and Illustration Skills, Applied Fashion Design and Technology and Interior Design can articulate into Raffles College's Bachelor of Design degree. Cartier appointment
SYDNEY: High end accessories brand Cartier Australia has named Vincent Vuillaume as its news sales and marketing manager. Vuillaume joined the Australian brand in February from his previous role as senior sales director for Cartier North America. Vuillaume's new role will see him responsible for all sales and marketing functions of Cartier Australia including the retail, wholesale and marketing departments.
On time crystals
NATIONAL: Luxury cut crystal brand Swarovski has extended its range to incorporate a range of watches. Designed under the creative direction of Nathalie Colin, the collection is aimed at the "multifaceted woman and inspired by life, by day, by night, by each moment lived by her". Based on five lines, the collection features 45 watch styles. Metal, leather and rubber are enhanced with crystal crystals in all shapes and sizes with each piece featuring the Swarovski's distinctive swan logo. The range will be instore from April.
Just resigned
MELBOURNE: The Just Group's director of operations Wai Tang, has announced her resignation. Tang, who was also the head of the Peter Alexander Sleepwear chain, will leave the Solomon Lew-owned business in August. No details have been offered surrounding her surprise exit although it is understood the announcement coincides with a decision to place Alexander's three US stores under review. Tang has more than 18 years' experience in operations and general management, having previously held positions at Pacific Brands and IB Management Consulting.
