WOOL IN WOOLLAHRA
SYDNEY: The former owner of shirting brand Herringbone has made his first tentative steps back into the world of retail. Herringbone co-founder Matthew Jensen has opened a retail store in Sydney’s Woollahra for his new label, M.J. Bale. The Australian menswear brand, launched in mid 2009, offers wool suits, cotton shirts and Italian silk ties as well as made-to-order garments. The label has been stocked in select David Jones stores since last September. Jensen will host an official launch for his new Woollahra store later this month.

RUBY GOES RETAIL
SYDNEY: Myer, Glue and Globalize are among the retailers that have picked up young womenswear label Milk and Honey’s latest collaborative range. The seven-year-old label has enlisted Australian media personality Ruby Rose to design a denim-heavy capsule collection scheduled to hit stores mid-August. The range will feature denim in a range of styles, colours and treatments, including sandblasted shorts with studded pockets and a denim dress. Other garments in the 60-piece collection include printed singlets, t-shirts and biker jackets. Prices range from $49 to $169.

KIRRILY COLLABORATES
SYDNEY: Womenswear designer Kirrily Johnston is set to share her spring/summer 2010/11 colour inspirations with a whole new audience. The Surry Hills-based designer has teamed up with Dulux to release the special edition ‘Dulux Kirrily Johnston Colour Palette’, a range of paints based on the colours featured in Johnston’s spring/summer collection. Rich reds, brown and greys are all featured, along with key neutrals. The collaboration is the latest for Johnston, who also works with ghd, Dermalogica and MAC.
