PLAYBOY: Top three selling category. With its Australian e-commerce site the number one store in its retail portfolio, Bras N Things is moving to replicate its online success across the Tasman.
The lingerie retailer revealed it will launch a dedicated New Zealand online store within two months, with all product on the site to be listed in New Zealand dollars. The online site will add to Bras N Things 21 bricks-and-mortar stores in New Zealand.
The brand’s online business manager Prudence Gracio said international sales currently made up approximately five per cent of Bras N Things’ online sales.
“Aside from New Zealand, we do not actively target the international market,” Gracio said.
Within Australia, the Bras N Things online store has apparently been going gangbusters, with Gracio declaring both the store’s revenue and product offering had quadrupled since its relaunch in February 2010. The site currently offers over 1,200 products and 3,400 style and colour combinations, an offering as wide as that found in any Bras N Things bricks-and-mortar boutique.
“Lingerie is our best performing category, followed by sleepwear and Playboy,” Gracio said.
Changes on their way for the Australian e-store include same-day delivery for Sydney metro orders.
Currently 98 per cent of online orders are dispatched on the day of order, with shoppers in metro areas receiving their goods within one to two days.
Gracio also revealed Bras N Things online currently sees one per cent of sold garments returned, usually on account of size or fit complaints. Due to health and safety regulations, all returns are destroyed.
Bras N Things currently has 200 stores across Australia and New Zealand. The retailer is owned by BB Retail Capital and sells private label brands.
