AUCKLAND: Pumpkin Patch has welcomed a new non-executive director to its board as it inches closer to launching its playwear brand.

The Auckland-headquartered company has appointed Brent Impey as an independent non-executive director. Impey most recently worked for MediaWorks New Zealand where he held the role of CEO for 10 years.

Impey is also a director of marine apparel company Hutchwilco, Devon Funds Management, Fred Hollows Australia and Fred Hollows Foundation New Zealand.

Pumpkin Patch chairman Greg Muir said he was “thrilled” to welcome Impey to the board.

“He brings significant experience in both the listed and private company environment,” Muir said.

“In particular his background in developing and managing multiple brands across markets will be very valuable to us as we continue to develop the Pumpkin Patch brand and our recently announced new childrenswear brand across our many global markets.”

Pumpkin Patch announced in April it plans to launch a new playwear brand into the Australasian market by August. The publicly listed company will open six to eight stores for the new label – the name of which is still under wraps - by year's end.

Pumpkin Patch currently operates retail stores and wholesale operations in 22 markets worldwide including the UK, US, China, India and South Africa.
