Blue Bay expands swimwear stable
Central Coast-based distributor Blue Bay Imports has secured the exclusive rights to distribute OndadeMar lingerie and Letarte swimwear and resortwear in Australia and New Zealand.
The company, which currently distributes OndadeMar swimwear in both countries, will begin its selling campaign in January 2006, approaching a select but diverse number of top-end fashion, swimwear and lingerie retailers.
"We don't want to flood the market, so we are going to be very selective as to what stores we choose to sell the label," said marketing director Krystal Ryan.
Targeting young fashion conscious women aged 14 to 35, the Letarte product range encompasses a stylish range of embrioded kaftans, wraps, ruffled skirts, shorts, t-shirts, bikinis, tankinis, hats and rash vests.
Retail price points for the collection, which is tipped to be available in stores by June next year, are $100 to $180 for the swimwear and $100 to $500 for the resortwear.
The company is also considering importing Letarte's childrenswear range in the coming years.
OndadeMar lingerie, which is also expected to hit stores mid next year, features a comprehensive collection of french lace bra's, briefs and camisole's for women aged 16 to 40.
The company is planning to approach Myer in the coming months, in the hope of striking an exclusivity stockist deal.
In further news, Blue Bay Imports is also planing to launch its three labels in Hong Kong in late 2006. At the time of press the company was eyeing-off one to two potential accounts in the country.
