MELBOURNE: Youthwear retailer Bardot has flown in the face of economic gloom, earmarking two new store openings in the next three months.

The Victorian-headquartered group has confirmed it intends spreading its reach beyond the eastern seaboard with standalone stores in Western Australia.

The outlets will be based at Westfield Carousel and Karrinyup Shopping Centres and will open on May 6 and June 3 respectively.

Bardot general manager Basil Artemides said the opening of the 13-year-old brand's news stores was part of Bardot’s national growth strategy.

"We have lots of loyal customers in Perth who buy our clothes through Myer or online so we wanted to give them more access to our clothing. Bardot has traditionally been a huge success in Perth and we know we can build on this even further."

The move will take to 30 the total number of Bardot stores across Australasia.
