MELBOURNE: Highpoint shopping centre has put out a call for entries to its Fashion Fusion Award.
Taking place as part of this year’s L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival (LMFF) from March 15 to 22, a spokesperson confirmed the Fashion Fusion Award program was designed to give emerging designers from Melbourne's "New West" an opportunity to showcase their talent through their own personal interpretation of fashion in the western suburbs.
The winning entry will be rewarded with a $1000 Fashion Fusion Award Grant and a three month temporary leasing area in Highpoint.
Last year's winners, twins Louise and Sarah Kayler-Thomson - who took out the gong for their punk clothing label Riotville - credit the leasing space for kick-starting their business, which is still successfully operating.
Entrants can submit their designs - in the form of illustrative art, photography and fashion - via the Highpoint website at highpoint.com.au.
The competition ends on March 8, with the winning entry to be nominated by Highpoint customers and announced via the website.
