NATIONAL: Swim Fashion Week @ Sanctuary Cove looks set to be dominated by Australian designer labels. Tipped as the Asia Pacific's answer to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim in Miami, which services industry swimwear buyers and media in the northern hemisphere, the February trade event is unlikely to feature brands from the broader region.
Organisers have told Ragtrader Online that Zimmermann, Anna & Boy, Watersun, Hotel Bondi Swim, Flamingo Sands, Wahine, Lisa Blue, White Sands, Seventh Wonderland, 2 Chillis and Inkib will stage catwalk collection shows. Californian-headquartered label Ed Hardy is believed to be the only international player to take part.
Flamingo Sands said it was still in negotiations with organisers IMG Fashion Asia Pacific.
New generation participants are believed to include Kooey, Sol Swimwear and Aquaclara while brands Hive Swimwear, Toggs and Jade Kohl will also feature in the schedule.
Swim Fashion Week @ Sanctuary Cove will run from February 25 to 28 at Sanctuary Cove, Gold Coast.
