SYDNEY: Some of Australia's most engaging emerging design talent have been named as finalists in the inaugural Fashion Palette Australia Awards.
Nearly 40 fashion and accessory designers together with some of the best new fashion photographers and illustrators have made it through the preliminary judging of the competition with just the final three in each category making it through to the finals on May 2.
Former Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane Australian Fashion Graduate of the Year finalist Camille McDermott, fashion photographer Amanda Lim and designer Tiana Elyse Jarvis are among those still in the running having been nominated for what organisers describe as their "outstanding vision and achievement".
Voting for the fourth category - the People’s Choice award - closes next Monday (April 20).
Shortlisted entries will be presented to the official judging panel, made up the 12 Fashion Palette keynote speakers including Stylehunter's Kate Vandermeer and designers Jessie Hill, Bowie Wong and Peter Morrissey.
The top three entries of each category will be announced at the awards ceremony, held the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour on May 2.
