A boutique footwear supplier has merged two brands in a bid to make ‘significant savings’ during the challenging retail climate.

With consumers spending less and the tumultuous market impacting retailers across the board, Paul Waddy has chosen to combine women’s shoe line Sanna, which he co-founded with Raimonda Sanna, with his leading men’s footwear business Antonie + Stanley.

The Sanna website will soon shut down, collections will be removed from some stores and not replaced, and soon all shoes will be rebranded under Antonie + Stanley. They will still be sold at some boutiques, but Waddy said the main focus will be on pushing sales through the Antonie + Stanley website.

Waddy said Antonie + Stanley, which is stocked in David Jones and 150 boutiques globally, will capitalise on its own success by introducing the women’s collection. To coincide with the merge it will also be lowering the price of leather shoes, with its e-store offering free shipping and returns.
