MELBOURNE: Former Cue designer Lauren Vieyra has become the last woman standing in the latest series of catwalk reality show Project Runway Australia.

Vieyra, a graduate of Whitehouse, so impressed judges in the last remaining challenge of the series that she was awarded a one month internship with Victorian couture brand J'Aton.

In an episode that aired last night (September 2), contestants on the show were asked to create a "show-stopping" dress suitable for inclusion in J'Aton's next seasonal collection.

Mentor Henry Roth gave the quartet just 20 hours to create the garment and $500 each to spend on materials.

Vieyra won the challenge with the judging panel of host Kristy Hinze, buyer Sarah Gale, designer Jayson Brunsdon and J'Aton designers Jacob Luppino and Anthony Pittorino unanimously declaring it the clear winner.

"I thought the tulle overlay was exquisite. It was fun, it was playful, it was mysterious," Gale said.

Ivana Stipicic was the worst performing designer with judges slamming her "poor" workmanship and odd selection of fabrics.

"The fabrication in the cape was really bad, it was like a raincoat. It didn't have enough va, va, vooom," Brunsdon noted.

Her eviction means there are now just three contestants in the running to win the series and the prize pool of a car, a six-page spread in Madison magazine and a $100,000 cash injection to invest in showing their label at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week.

The contestants, all of whom are now finalists, still vying for the title include Vieyra, Anthony Capon and William Lazootin.
