NATIONAL: Details of Sportsgirl's collaboration with independent label Alpha 60 have been released, ahead of the collection's March launch into stores.
Alpha 60 designers, brother and sister Alex and Georgie Cleary, have created a nine piece capsule range for the young fashion retailer. The range is inspired by a woman born in 1881 called Marchesa Luisa Casati, who was a European celebrity with an eccentric, glamorous life.
Items include a faceless female print on oversized tops, an unusually shaped velour cardigan, mini dresses, a fitted dress with long sleeves and a hooded cropped jacket. Black and white shades are key.
Prices range from $60 to $150.
The collaboration with Alpha 60 is one of a series of projects Sportsgirl has undertaken with independent labels, through its Sportsgirls Like programme. It has previously worked with The Cassette Society.
Alpha 60 have five stores in Sydney and Melbourne as well as wholesale stockists in Australia and internationally. The pair hail from Canberra and are based in Melbourne. They launched their label in 2005.
