SYDNEY: Akira Isogawa will be the first Australian designer to take part in a prestigious Browns Brides trunk show in London.
The October event will see Isogawa unveil his first specific bridal offer for an international boutique. The collection will draw on Japanese bridal wear influences, with delicate beading and creative use of textiles. It will feature a mix of corset style, structured dresses and fluid options.
“I have transferred the kimono textile look into a modern shape, without losing the hand embroidery and beading,” he said. “When I travel, I look for colours and textures to inspire me, the use of coloured threads and glass beading to make the design more modern and fresh.”
The Sydney-based designer has held a long-standing relationship with the Browns business, which bought his first ready to wear collection in 1997.
The Trunk Show will be held at Browns Bridal boutique in London on October 8 and 9. Customers will have the chance to view the range and meet Isogawa.
