Esprit does 40 by the book

NATIONAL: Global fashion brand Esprit has launched a commemorative book to celebrate 40 years since its establishment. The high gloss publication - sent to media and Esprit staff - features photographic, graphic and text based memorabilia from the brand, including old campaigns, staff commentaries and company history. An Esprit spokesperson described the book, released earlier this month, as the culmination of the brand's 40th birthday celebrations.

The Australian arm of the company, founded in the 80s, rolled out a series of instore promotions and discounts, while the company's entire Australian staff was also treated to a party at Sydney's Luna Park to to celebrate the big four zero.

Esprit operates a total of 40 licence partners and more than 650 directly managed retail stores worldwide and distributes its products via more than 14,000 wholesale locations across the globe.

Locally, Australia and New Zealand now have 89 freestanding Esprit stores. In Australia Esprit has presence in 96 David Jones and 40 Myer stores as well as 74 independent accounts and 11 outlets.

July 2008 saw the introduction of ‘Bodywear' Esprit's lingerie line for women and February 2009 will see the launch of Esprit's premium ‘Collection' range into the Australia and New Zealand marketplace.
