NATIONAL: Luxury menswear boutique Harrolds has revealed it has secured the exclusive rights to US brand John Varvartos. The new line, available for winter 2009, will be positioned alongside Harrold's other new introductions for the season which include Yohji Yamamoto, Yukio Mishiba and Bishibou all from Japan.
The newly crowned Ragtrader TNT Fashion Retailer of the Year award winner will also introduce the Paul Smith London collection as part of its 2009 offering.
Existing brands including Brioni, Kiton, Corneliani, Pal Zileri, Xacus and Raffaele Caruso will continue to be stocked at Harrold's Melbourne and Sydney stores.
Harrolds co-owner Theo Poulakis said the John Varvatos range would include scarves, knitwear, hats, casual shirts, jeans, casual jackets, trousers and sports jackets in a palette including black, charcoal, grey, burgundy and white.
The winter 2009 collection, following a theme of 'New York gothic rock star', would retail at price points of between $279 and $2910, Poulakis said.
