MELBOURNE: High end knitwear label Cable Melbourne has expanded its range for autumn/winter 09 with the addition of a basics line. Cable Basics are made from lightweight 100 per cent Australian Merino wool and available in scoop neck, roll neck and cardigan styles with a palette of grey marle, black and milk. The range was designed to complement the brand's existing offer, which had also been enhanced for the new season, a spokesperson said.
"The collection can be divided into three categories; the familiar 'Milano' story, which offers new styles including the 'Trench range' of belted vests, jackets, dresses, skirts and long coats, all with a distinctive exaggerated welted hem. The second story, which incorporates a new 'diamond' pattern, consists of more relaxed styles such as the Classic Long Wrap Cardi, which is now available in a sleeveless and shorter version, as well as the must-have Basic V Neck Jumper, Cowl Neck Dress/Jumper and the versatile Square Neck Dress."
Cable Melbourne's autum/winter 09 collection will be available in February from around 60 independent retailers nationally. Meanwhile the brand's online store at cablemelbourne.com was due to launch over the coming weeks, the spokesperson confirmed.
The year 2010 will also see the brand expand into new categories including menswear and homewares.
