Those in the fashion business love nothing more than a goos knees-up and a chance to get out and about.

One hot dot

Online vintage store Dorothy & Evelyn celebrated their launch into the real world with a nostalgically new party in Melbourne's St Kilda late last month. The label's flagship store was transported into a different era after guests were treated to the tastes of generations past with the store's classic couture accompanied by Pimms cocktails, fairy floss, popcorn and old-time sneaky treats like Iced Vovos and snow balls.

Music to their ears

Apparel retailers The Just Group, YD and Fast Future Brands put business aside recently when representatives of both companies were invited by instore music supplier Mood Music to attend the ARIA awards. Pictured enjoying the action is Chantelle Hayes from the Just Group with Helen Kim from Fast Future Brands.

Raining on my parade

Children models stole the show when Seafolly launched its 2008/09 swimwear collection at Vaucluse's Nielsen Park recently. The rain failed to dampen the spirits of fashionistas brave enough to dare the car dash and once inside they were treated with fresh coffees and delightful snacks. Pictured enjoying the view is Drew Frame, Sue Humberstone, Danijela Terzic and hosts Anthony and Andie Halas.

Girls night in

Mother Nature proved no match for knicker brand Underwear of Sweden, which defied a Sydney downpour to stage a fundraiser for the Breast Cancer Foundation. Over 300 women flocked to Manly's Wharf Hotel as part of a 'Girls Night In' celebration, raising close to $5000 in much-needed funds while enjoying cocktails, canapes and a fashion parade to boot. Oh la la

In the true spirit of Parisian naughtiness, Moss & Spy designer Lia Tsimos decided to stage her autumn/winter 2008 collection launch at a decadent nightclub in Sydney's infamous Oxford Street. During high afternoon. Cocktails, champagne and French-inspired canapes greeted guests on arrival at De Nom, along with Tsimos who described the collection as "Paris Opera meets Baroque styling". Just a note

Electronics powerhouse Asus was intent on making a fashion statement at the launch of its 'Green Collection' notebooks. The company staged a runway show featuring the latest ranges from designer labels Calvin Klein Jeans and Marnie Skillings, with models clutching its Bamboo, N Series and EEE PC S101 gear as accessories. The event, which took place at the Overseas Passenger Terminal in Sydney, was also filmed for an episode of Channel Seven series Make Me A Supermodel.
