The 3 Best Footwear Trends from Fashion Week

Comments Comments

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia kicked off the resort season with a series of shows across Sydney.

Here are the top three footwear highlights from the event.

1. Harden up

Iconic footwear brand R.M Williams supplied boots for Dion Lee's opening show at Sydney Opera House. The designer's soft womenswear looks were hardened up with R.M Williams' Millicent boots, while its Yearling boots were pared back with menswear styles. Image: courtesy of Flaunter.

2. All that frill

Designer footwear label Beau Coops was a perfect partner for Romance Was Born's Electro Orchid collection. The collection, which featured rioutous colour, sequins, crystals, Lurex and feathers, was notched up with an exclusive Beau Coops collaboration. Brocade mules finished each look with satin bows, and furry pompoms. Image: courtesy of Flaunter.

3. Sustainable sole

Sustainable womenswear brand KITX went all the way to Italy for its footwear inspiration. Hard knotted wax cotton and leather shoes were used for the label's resort collection, created by a small family of shoe makers in Tuscany. The range was full of organic and sustainable fibres and fabrics - with footwear no exception. Image: courtesy of KITX.
