International footwear label Converse has tapped into the Australia photography and art scene to launch its 2017 One Star Collection.

Converse enlisted Melbourne photographer Ben Clement to capture the street style shoe in a series of locations across the city.

Sydney artist Dina Broadhurst was then given the shots to be transformed into original artworks.

Mixing photography with collage, Broadhurst’s avant-garde interpretation of Converse’s latest One Star collection culminates in a series of eight 120x120cm artworks of Australian street style.

The three-dimensional pieces combine an eclectic palette with striking bolts of glitter.

Converse declined the use of mainstream models, instead engaging five talents and creatives identified as best representing Australian street style, including Zoe Cross, Big Words, Shayne Tino, Alex Drewniak, and Luka Raubenheimer.

The 2017 Converse One Star collection features the label’s Ortholite with a vulcanized rubber outsole and signature star design pay homage to its roots.

The new collection is made from premium suede, perforated leather, and water-resistant options for enhanced durability.
