Emu Australia is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and will kick the festivities off with a celebration of its Australian-made platinum collection.

Each pair of Emu platinum shoes are handcrafted in Geelong, Victoria and pass through 10 pairs of hands to ensure quality.

The workshop is in the heart of the one of the best wool-growing districts in the world and the birthplace of the Australian sheepskin boot.

The business has been hand making Australian sheepskin footwear here for the last 25 years with a number of employees also helping to grow the business, having been employed at Emu Australia for over 20 years.

Emu Australia owner Paul Neate said that the platinum collection is the perfect way to celebrate the business.

"I can think of no better way to mark Emu Australia’s 25th year than celebrating our platinum collection, that embodies the spirit of the naturally beautiful landscape of Australia, and is made in Australia from 100% Australian sheepskin.

"Over the last quarter of a century, Emu Australia has progressed from one style of sheepskin boot to a premium footwear and accessories brand that designs and makes products from the very best natural materials for women and children, all year round.

"Leading waterproof and water-resistant technology are now standard for Emu," he said.

Not only has the business expanded its product offering over its 25 years, it has also expanded its global reach.

The brand is now available in 70 countries and carried by premium retailers including David Jones, Free People, Anthropologie and Harvey Nichols.

Alongside celebrating its premium collection, Emu is set to roll out a schedule of story-telling pieces, user-generated content and trade assets for retailers to celebrate its anniversary.
