AN UPMARKET FASHION WOMENSWEAR NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNISED SEEKS A LOCAL AND OFFSHORE PRODUCTION MANAGER:

OVERALL OBJECTIVE: To plan and manage production, ensuring on time delivery to the required fit, quality, design at the most efficient cost.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

PRODUCTION
• Management of production, ensuring bulk production is delivered on time. Taking ownership for the total production process, from initial planning to the delivery of garments.
• Placement of orders, set target/negotiate price and agree delivery date on all orders
• Plan and issue all local factories with regular plant schedules to ensure production is clearly booked and agreed to. Produce detailed and strategic plans for factories and at all times maintain a professional relationship with suppliers.
• Constantly review local manufacturers performance in terms of reliability, quality, co-operation, financial viability, value and strategic importance.
• Implement short term and long term production plans.
• Factories to be rated through a formal performance review based on delivery, quality and price performance
• Constantly seek to establish new manufacturers who meet client standard
• Allocate production to local factory base, asses factory capacity on a weekly basis and review production plans in accordance with merchandise requirements. Ensure sufficient flexibility to respond to sales trends.
• Ensure relationships with local manufacturers progress to client becoming a key part of their business.

• 95 to 100% on time delivery
• Product is delivered to client standard
• Product is delivered at most efficient cost
• Manufacturer base in place to meet market and business requirements
• Short and long term production plans are in place to meet business requirements

SUPPLIER PARTNERSHIPS
• Establishment and maintenance of strong partnerships with key manufacturers to ensure client standards and requirements are constantly communicated and delivered by the manufacturer.
• Development of manufacturers as long-term partner.

• Flexible manufacturer base that is capable of quick response
• Client/Supplier relationship is open and honest at all times

TEAMWORK/LEADERSHIP
• Work with team to ensure delivery of personal and team objectives
• Work with direct reports to set team objectives
• Encourage teamwork by helping others and thanking them for their contributions

Key Performance indicators

• Achievement of individual and team objectives
• Happy and productive team
• Annual performance reviews indicate improved performance

COMMUNICATION
• Communicate final make prices
• Communicate any variances in delivery, price or quantities immediately

• Variances actioned in agreed timeframes
• Relevant mgt fully informed within 24 hrs

CONTINUOS IMPROVEMENT

• Initiates and supports efforts to identify and implement better ways of doing things
