Spanish giant Zara has revealed further details on its local retail strategy, as it prepares to boost its Australian store count.  

The retailer, which first landed on local shores in 2011, will see its ninth Australian store, at Westfield Chatswood, officially open to the public tomorrow.

The Westfield Chatswood store will open with the brand’s autumn/winter collections for women and men, across over 1,300 square meters and two spacious floors, including 24 fitting rooms.

The launch of Zara’s ninth Australian store also precedes the unveiling of Zara’s fully redeveloped flagship Westfield Sydney CBD store, which has been undergoing renovations.

Zara confirmed it will close its Pitt Street store from the February 25, 2014 as a result, with its completion scheduled for March 13, 2014.

Upon re-opening, the Westfield Sydney CBD store  will house close to 300 additional square meters across “new architecturally designed floors”.

Zara currently operates nine stores in Australia, including:  Westfield Sydney CBD, Westfield Bondi Junction, Westfield Chatswood,  Bourke St Melbourne, Chadstone Shopping Centre, Highpoint Shopping Centre and Doncaster Shopping Centre in Victoria, Burnside Village in Adelaide and The Canberra Centre in Canberra.
