Australian fashion house Willow is closing its doors after parent company APG & Co.'s failure to find a buyer for the brand.

The embattled label was put on the market in April this year.

Willow's online operations shuttered on Monday and its four standalone stores across Melbourne and Sydney will cease trading within a month.

The label's founder Kit Willow Podgornik was dismissed from the business in 2013.

Podgornik has since launched ethical fashion brand KITX which operates one boutique in Paddington Sydney, an online store and distribution partnerships with David Jones, Tuchuzy and US etailer Shopbop.

According to reports in the Sydney Morning Herald, APG & Co. CEO Adrian Jones has now resigned from his role.

There have been no appointments made in his place.
