The Iconic has partnered with contemporary artist Spencer Tunick to sponsor his upcoming large-scale, nude installation which will take place on Whitsunday Island.

The installation, 'Sea, Earth Change', marks an important part of The Iconic's We Are Human summer 19/20 campaign which explores and celebrates humanity.

The project will take place on November 23 and invites Australians of all shapes, sizes and backgrounds to participate.

The work will make comment on vulnerability of humans, the fragility of nature and their inextricable connectedness and will be shot on Whitehaven Beach.

In celebration of this partnership The Iconic will take its annual Summer Show (formerly the Swim Show) to Brisbane for the first time.

Known for its body-positive runways, the show will further explore the message behind Tunick's work by sparking conversations about diversity, inclusion, body-positivity as well as the need for organisations and consumers to take action on their social and environmental impacts.

The Iconic CMO Alexander Meyer said that the partnership aligns perfectly with The Iconic's values.

"We are incredibly thrilled and humbled to have the opportunity to work with someone of Spencer Tunick’s calibre.

"Spencer’s work strips everything back to create a statement – one that explores the concept of the vulnerability in both humans and nature.

"His images are impactful because of their nakedness and simplicity. It is this simplicity of existence that we, together with Spencer, want to highlight – that we are complicating the world through fear of the 'anonymous other.'

"The Iconic believes everyone should feel valued and a sense of belonging in the world, regardless of our perceived differences.

"As a business, we strive to celebrate diversity and inclusion, and seek to appreciate the world we live in, while also recognising our responsibility for sustainability in fashion.

"Afterall, we are human, with the power to inspire and create change in the people and environment around us," he said.

Tunick added that these types of remote works often only happen with the support of partners.

"To work in remote locations with groups of people provide logistical difficulties that often need support from brave collaborators.

"From participants, to the sponsors art works are often communal efforts.

"The resulting photographs will stand on their own and resonate as artworks that hopefully will provoke and energise," he said.

Tunick will unveil the final work on the first day of The Iconic's Summer Show on November 27.

Applications to be involved in the piece opened on October 30 and will close on November 14.
