Cotton On Group has partnered with youth homelessness advocate HoMie.

"It is with every joy I can report with have partnered with Cotton On Group to help increase the number of youths we can help on a six monthly basis," the organisation told ragtrader.com.au.

Participants in HoMie's Pathway Project will be able to complete internships through Cotton On Group stores and work towards gaining a formal retail qualification as part of the project.

HoMie is the first retail clothing store and fashion label in Australia of its kind, providing brand-new clothing and workplace training to young people experiencing homeless.

The company began in 2015 as a Facebook crowd-funding campaign run by Nick Pearce, Marcus Crook, and Robert Gillies,‘Homeless of Melbourne’, and is now a streetwear store in central Melbourne, and a stand-alone wholesale label.

The label is entirely Australian made and has allowed HoMie to provide 2,935 items of clothing, 107 beauty services, 472 hygiene and sanitation packs and over 2,300 food and drink items to young people in need; all free of charge.

The Pathway Project, launched this year in conjunction with Launch Housing and KnowledgeSpace, has already seen six young people in supported housing complete a certificate three in retail and gain full time employment.
