Uniqlo has revealed it will continue its expansion in Australia with the announcement of two planned store openings in Victoria and Western Australia.

The two new stores will see the retailer's footprint extend to 17 stores and represents the first time the brand will open a store in Western Australia.

The 832 square metre store will open as part of a $460 million redevelopment of The Glen shopping centre in Melbourne in Spring 2018 and will provide 50 new jobs for the local region according to a statement from the company.

“These new stores underline the brand's commitment to growing Australia as a key market in the Asia-Pacific region through its unique shopping experience and world-class customer service.

Uniqlo Australia COO Kenji Tsuji said that the brand was committed to meeting customer demand and expanding their retail footprint across the country.

“Since opening our first store in Melbourne in 2014, we've focused on extending our LifeWear message to Australians and to making their lives better as industry leaders in products, personnel and stores.

“The opening of our sixth Victorian store demonstrates our commitment to local customers, by finding the right locations to showcase our products and make them accessible for all.”
