UK fashion brand Reiss is set to launch in Australia for the first time in May.

The announcement directly follows a partnership struck between the retailer and US private equity firm Warburg Pincus to accelerate international expansion.

The label will open two standalone stores in Melbourne as well as roll out concessions in selected David Jones stores.

Globally Reiss plans to open a total of 40 stores in 2016, building on its existing portfolio of around 140 sites across 15 markets.

Reiss founder and MD David Reiss said he is thrilled to grow the business and harness opportunities in Australia.

“We are delighted to be introducing Reiss to Australia this year.

“It’s an exciting market and one that we feel will truly embrace the Reiss aesthetic.”

“It is wonderful to see Reiss open its doors in Melbourne, the retail capital of Australia.”

Reiss will unveil its flagship Melbourne store on St Collins Lane next month, followed by a concession in David Jones Pacific Fair.

It will launch additional David Jones sites and its ecommerce business in July and in October will open its doors to a second standalone in Chadstone.
