TK Maxx has officially opened its first Australian stores, with 34 former Trade Secret locations set to be converted and reopened over the next two months.

TK Maxx has opened six stores in Melbourne as it works its way up the east coast of Australia.

The stores feature a product assortment across, men's, women's, and kid's fashion as well as homewares, accessories and beauty.

While the off-price retailer does not disclose a brand directory, labels spotted at the openings include Ivanka Trump, Dolce & Gabbana, Puma, Interval, Mink Pink and Gucci.

Bargain purchases included restored Louis Vuitton vintage bags priced from $500.

TK Maxx's business model is based on buying up surplus stock from brands at heavily discounted rates, with thousands of items hitting shop floors weekly.

The brand will open further stores across May and April with locations including Canberra, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Townsville and Wollongong.
