The story revealed the online launch of Dion Lee for Target, prior to its release across Target stores nationally. The 36 piece collection featured day-to-night clothing, loungewear, performance wear and accessories for women. Prices ranged from $25-$119 in sizes 6 to 16.

2. Zara in hot water

As the issue of ethical fashion heated up in Australia, Zara fielded allegations of labour rights abuses. A report by not-for-profit research organisation SOMO and RepoĢrter Brasil claimed Zara does not have sufficient sight of its supply chain.

3. G-Star falls into administration

Denim Enterprises, which operated the Australian arm of G-Star Raw, entered into voluntary administration this year. While the brand has since resurfaced under the ownership of its parent company, it sent shockwaves throughout the sector.

4. Iconic retailer closes

Betts Group will shutter its 31 ZU stores across the country from March 1, 2016. The company's ladies product development manager Robyn Breckler said that the closure will take place due to patchy business for its womens brands.

5. Retail honcho resigns

van Laack Australia, parent holding company to Rhodes & Beckett and Herringbone Sydney, announced the resignation of MD Nelson Mair. Mair concluded tenure with the organisation on April 1, 2015.
