Le Specs is about to get a little bit fancy.

The Australian sunglasses brand has announced an extension to its product category with Le Specs Luxe.

The Luxe collection aims to provide consumers with a sleeker and sartorially elevated addition to its line with innovative frame materials and elegant finishes.

The round lens has been updated by a structural acrylic hood detail on the upper frame, while classic cat eye styles will feature reflective futuristic features.

The line is reported to be inspired by the French Riviera with colours such as glacier blue, rose and ecru being incorporated into base palettes of silver and gold.

A nod will also be given to classic Hollywood with modern takes on 1950s styles featuring tortoiseshell contrasted with mirror lenses and metallics.

Le Specs designer Hamish Tame believes it's a natural growth for the brand who are gaining exposure internationally.

"The launch of our inaugural Le Specs Luxe Collection is the result of our progression over the last few years globally.

"Our growth through the top retailers internationally has shown the potential for a premium quality collection at an affordable price.

"The collection has an air of sophistication, while still staying true to the irreverent and youthful nature of Le Specs."

Le Specs is currently stocked in around 35 countries.

Le Specs Luxe will be available in stores from April 27 at a price point of $119.
