Australian womenswear label Talulah has appointed Miu Miu's Toni Dameglio as head of design following reports of 'unprecedented growth'.

The label recorded a sales surge of 115 per cent over the past six months and has exceeded 300 stockists internationally, growing its full time staff from five to 30 over two years.

Dameglio brings with her eight years of experience working for the Italian luxury brand as senior designer.

Dameglio will drop her first collection 'Superstition' for the label this September in stockists and Myer stores across the country.

Talulah founder and creative director Kelli Wharton is thrilled to announce the brand's expansion as well as Dameglio's new role.

“I am thrilled with the recent growth spurt of the company. It's something we've been quietly working towards for some time.

“Due to this growth, I am now stepping into a broader role within the company.

“I knew we had to bring someone with vast experience in the luxury market in order to carry on the Talulah aesthetic.

“I am excited to have Toni here designing for us.

“Superstition is a fantastic collection and we look forward to many more with Toni at the helm.”

Dameglio is also excited to be taking up residency at The Locale Group's head office in Byron Bay.

“Making the move from an established Italian fashion house to Talulah has been a fantastic change of lifestyle.

“I'm excited to be a part of the huge strides Talulah is making here in Australia and internationally.

“This first collection has been well received and I hope to become a part of the Australian fashion landscape and continue my work for Talulah for many years to come.”
