New Zealand Fashion Week (NZFW) has unveiled its designer line-up for its upcoming August event.

The 20th anniversary event will feature a mix of established and emerging designers, and will take place from Monday August 23 to Friday August 27 at the Aotea Square and Auckland Town Hall.

"This year’s line-up is a true reflection of the talent we have in New Zealand," NZFW founder and managing director Dame Pieter Stewart said.

"We’re thrilled with the calibre of designers, buyers and brands who will be a part of our 20th Anniversary," she said.

Notable highlights within the line-up include an increased number of designers using ethical practices and sustainable materials to produce their pieces.

The line-up also features four new generation designers, Jakob Carter, Cylée, Society Apparel & Society Hats and a group of designers who will show under Nora Swann.

Additionally, this year's NZFW will feature two Māori designers in solo shows.

"It’s wonderful to see so many designers actively supporting our call to address pertinent issues such as diversity, inclusion and sustainability," Dame Stewart added.

"We’re passionate about playing a leading role in addressing social issues and encouraging the fashion industry to improve its social impact.

"And as always, New Zealand Fashion Week provides a unique environment that allows local designers to shine, both creatively and in business, building and supporting an innovative and forward-thinking fashion community," she said.
