The Australian government has launched another resource for small businesses and this time it comes on a USB flash drive.

The Small Business Resource Kit contains a business plan template, a business loan finder and a growing your business checklist, among other resources, all on the one portable USB drive.

Minister for Small Business Nick Sherry said the kit offered convenience to the two million small businesses across Australia, including those in fashion and retail.

“Small business operators are generally time-poor - they are focused on developing their businesses and need access to resources in a way that suits their busy schedules,” Sherry said.

“This kit gives small business operators instant access to resources in a variety of formats, including video files, audio recordings, as well as traditional handbooks.”

The full kit contains:

  • Business.gov.au checklists including the 'starting your business' and 'growing your business' checklists

  • Online resource links, including a grants finder, advisor finder and business loan finder

  • Industry information and research including global economic indicators and data on the Australian economy

  • Fact sheets such as how to sell to the Australian government

  • Templates for business plans, marketing plans and succession plans

  • A legal guide covering issues such as working with contracts and retail leasing

  • Contacts for a raft of organisations including AusIndustry, Enterprise Connect and the Independent Contractors Hotline

Fashion businesses interested in obtaining one of the resource kits can contact the Small Business Support Line on 1800 77 7275 or email sbsl@innovation.gov.au. The resource is free.
