Target will join forces with the Nappy Collective next month to help collect nappies for mothers and families in need.

The Nappy Collective has been operating since October 2013, collecting unused nappies and donating them to mothers in shelters and families in crisis, who are unable to afford to buy nappies themselves.

Some 31 Target stores across Australia will operate as drop off points for customers to donate any unused nappies.

Target MD Stuart Machin said that partnering with the Nappy Collective made perfect sense for Target.

"I first got introduced to the Nappy Collective’s great work by Dannii Minogue. Our business revolves around mothers and families, and we are delighted we are able to support such a worthwhile cause,” Machin said.

“I know the Nappy Collective’s great work will strike a chord with our customers and team members, and I think together we can make a real difference to thousands of mothers and families.”

The Nappy Collective founder Sandra Jacobs said she was thrilled to have Target on board for its May nappy drive.

“Thanks to support from donors and businesses, we’ve grown the Nappy Collective from a single collection point in 2013, to now having a presence in major cities and towns across Australia.

“Having Target’s support is a fantastic boost to our collection network, and I’m sure will help make this May’s nappy drive our most successful yet,” Jacobs said.

The Nappy Collective drive runs from May 1-15.
