Michael Hill has launched its new alternative to mined diamonds, laboratory-created Fenix diamonds.

The brand is one of the first in Australia to launch an alternative to natural, mined diamonds.

The Fenix diamonds are recreated diamonds with essentially the same chemical composition, physical properties and structure of natural diamonds.

They are grown in controlled laboratory conditions to recreate the brilliance of rare natural diamonds.

The launch of the Fenix diamonds into the market will also see the introduction of another ‘C’ to the well-known four Cs (colour, clarity, carat, cut) of diamonds – offering consumers the choice of an alternative.

Michael Hill CEO Daniel Bracken said that the certified, laboratory-created Fenix diamonds represent new innovation in diamond jewellery.

"Our jewellery has always been made with a focus on quality, design and craftsmanship.

"We look forward to offering our customers an additional choice in diamond jewellery with an assurance on quality.

"Whether it’s mined or laboratory-created, Michael Hill offers Australians crafted fine jewellery that they’ll treasure," he said.

The initial offering of Fenix diamonds is a collection of solitaire rings that are available for custom order only.
