H&M, Uniqlo, Zara and Gap have today confirmed residency at AMP Capital's Macquarie Centre.

Macquarie Centre’s $440 million transformation will be unveiled on 16 October 2014.

A fifth international brand will be announced in coming weeks.

The complex will also house Myer and David Jones, with the latter opening its first new premises in Sydney for seven years.

The sites will form part of a two floor fashion galleria that will feature a total of 130 speciality fashion and beauty stores.

Australian designers Scanlan Theodore, Zimmermann, Alice McCall, Gorman, Willow and Sass & Bide will also join the fashion offer.

Macquarie Centre senior marketing manager Yael Bradbury said the complex will house a number of firsts.

“Macquarie Centre will be transformed into a leading fashion, lifestyle and leisure hub for Sydney with the first and highly anticipated H&M, the first Uniqlo in the city’s north and Zara will be the only store on Sydney’s north side to stock a full children’s range, complementing the strong children’s offer from H&M, Uniqlo and Gap.

“We have some grand plans for when our doors open upon completion of the redevelopment, including two fashion runway shows to showcase everything we will have to offer at Macquarie Centre.”

Macquarie Centre will become the largest suburban shopping centre in New South Wales, with 138,500 square metres of floor space.

Next week, the centre will also launch My Macquarie, a personalised app for shopping, fashion news, trends and events.

It is the first Australian app to feature catwalk-to-mobile technology.

The technology will allow users to compile a ‘look book’ of favourite outfits from the live runway event on opening day.

It will then assist users to navigate their way around the centre to browse and purchase items.
