Following successful openings worldwide, Loewe has brought its Casa Loewe store concept to Sydney.

It is the second retail space opened by Kennedy Luxury Group for the Spanish house in Australia.

Located in Westfield Sydney City, the new store spans 130 square metres.

Kennedy Luxury Group's commercial director Matteo de Rosa said opening up in Sydney had only been a matter of time.

“As a city, Sydney resonates globally, so it was only a matter of time before Kennedy Luxury Group made the decision to open a second Australian store.

“The result is Casa Loewe Sydney, the latest retail concept by J.W. Anderson including the full RTW womenswear range, leather goods and accessories.”

Casa Loewe features braided timber walls and polished Campaspero limestone flooring to pay homage to the brand's European heritage.

The emerald green canopy references the entrance to Casa Loewe Madrid, which was designed by famed architect Javier Carvajal in 1959.

Custom designed rugs by Nanimarquina, a tapestry by John Allen and antique cider presses will also be featured in the space.

De Rosa said that while Kennedy Luxury Group are committed to increasing the brand's awareness, it already has a cult following.

“Kennedy Luxury Group introduced Loewe to this market and is committed to raising the awareness within the Australian market, delivering a unique shopping experience.

“Loewe is a niche brand in the market with a very loyal customer and a great fan base.

“It is the kind of brand that triggers emotion, there are no mixed feelings or twilight judgement – you either love it or you don't.”

Since the store launched in October, de Rosa said bags and accessories have been the key performing categories as expected, but ready-to-wear's success took them by surprise.

“Overall, bags and accessories are the key categories; the 'Gate' and 'Puzzle' are the most popular bags.

“Sydney clients have been quite adventurous compared to Melbourne and [are] willing to try colours such as scarlett red, mango and blue.

“Ready-to-wear has definitely been a good surprise, very well received, especially the iconic pieces.”

He also revealed that a Loewe space will be coming to David Jones' Elizabeth Street store in Sydney late next year.

“In the last part of 2019, Kennedy Luxury Group will open a Loewe space inside the renovated David Jones of Elizabeth Street which will showcase a selection of accessories only.”
